Liquid Fuels (Heating) Contract Procurement

PROPOSED RECOMMENDATION

To undertake a procurement exercise for the supply of Liquid Fuels (Heating) for corporate sites, including school & academy portfolios (which make up the majority of the sites which will utilise the contract) of North Yorkshire Council from the 22^nd November 2023.  The replacement contract will include the former NYCC sites that use Liquid Fuels and the sites from the former seven boroughs and districts which will be brought into the new contract as their existing contracts end.

BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION

The current NYC Liquid Fuels (Heating) contract is with Certas Energy UK Ltd, provided via a framework contract with YPO, which expires on the 21^st November 2023.

The new Liquid Fuels (Heating) contract will commence from the 22^nd November 2023.

LEGAL AND GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

The procurement exercise will be undertaken by the Council’s Procurement and Contract Management Service, with a Gateway report will be considered in accordance with the Council’s Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules.

This is a key decision.  The Liquid Fuels (Heating) contract was entered on the forward plan in November 2022.

RECOMMENDATION
